Moena Alpin Pearl
Fairytale of the Dolomites and Pearl of the Alps
For some years, Moena has been part of the "Alpine Pearls", an association founded and developed by Alpine tourism spots to promote and support a sustainable and high-quality tourism offer.
This concept is primarily based on protecting the environment and constantly researching itineraries and initiatives that stimulate guests and local residents to enjoy the nature that surrounds them and the activities that are offered to the full, leaving their polluting vehicles at home and travelling around on foot or using environmentally-friendly methods of transport.
Moena and sustainable mobility
In Moena, the use of the e-bike, offered to guests and local residents this year too, is on the rise. Proposed as an alternative to the car, the e-bike is a great light railway system that connects the main streets of the town and links all the areas of the town center (click here to see the route of the light railway system).
Some of the hotels have also decided to encourage the use of public transport by offering a bonus on treatments in their wellness centers or on food/drink consumed in their restaurants/bars to those who, on check-in, leave their car keys in the safe hands of the hotel until it is time to return home.
Relaxation holidays
A holiday in Moena is an opportunity to experience the peace-of-mind sustainable mobility can provide. Traffic is restricted in the main squares and along the street that flanks the river for a large part of the day and evening (for times and regulations click here).
Sports such as trekking, MTB, horse riding and Nordic walking are offered. There is also ongoing research into new outdoor activities such as the percorso sensoriale (sensorial path) of Roncac’ (this year a good 600 metres long!) which was initiated by Tom Perry in the summer of 2011. There are also yoga courses which take place in fields and allow our guests to fully immerse themselves in nature to guarantee relaxation and wellness.
